The Jubilee Footpath

Home/Listings/What To Do & See/The Jubilee Footpath

The Jubilee Footpath was created by the community of Brora to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II’s 25 year reign, the silver jubilee, in 1977.  The Footpath was made on the steep-sloping ground on the north bank of the River Brora, linking Golf Road with the mouth of the river, below the golf course.  It was repaired in May 1980 by members of the Brora Youth Club and was re-opened by Prince Charles, who met and mixed with youth groups and local people.  Repairs have taken place again in 2022 and 2023 by a dedicated local volunteer to be enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.
